Chotanagpur DIG Homkar Amol Venukant, SSP Kuldeep Dwivedi along with other senior police officials on Monday conducted a mock drill and checked route lining of both the routes through which the dignitaries will be ferried from the airport to Khelgaon, the venue for the Global Investors Summit, and also briefed the policemen deputed on their posts giving them the required directions to be followed by them from now onwards.

“It was measured how much time it takes to reach the venue from the airport so that further planning could be done in this regard. Point to point briefing of the police personnel present there was also done and were told how they should conduct themselves during the summit,” said the DIG. Route lining was also checked and the Nodal Officers were told how to supervise their juniors, he added.

“It was a kind of dress rehearsal which was done on both the routes ahead of the Summit,” said Homkar.

Traffic SP Sanjay Ranjan, who was also with the DIG, said that the police personnel were given required direction by the senior police officials.

“The policemen were also told about the dos and don’ts during the Summit and what should be their conduct with the guests,” said the Traffic SP.

Ranchi DC Manoj Kumar said that CCTV cameras have been installed throughout the route from the airport to the venue providing wireless sets and other gadgets to the police personnel for a better communication among themselves.

“Till date around 8,000 people have registered themselves for the Summit which is increasing day by day. The list what we have been handed over by the Industry Department is of around 250 people for which we have to take extra care for their plans,” the DC said.

The DC also confirmed that choppers will be used to ferry some of the VVIPs from the airport for which two helipads have been prepared at the venue.
