RR Srivastava

When the parliament is busy discussing the measures to be included in the proposed Women Safety Bill, Hazaribagh police is also busy on this burning topic. These days the cops are collecting data from the institutions/organisations where females and girls work and study.

Each police station is collecting this data from the organisations/institutions which come under their cover area. Both Government and private offices and educational institutions have been knocked by the cops to collect important information.

From the institutions/organisations the cops are taking the number of girls/women working and/or studying. They are also taking information about the male workers/students and verifying that whether anyone has any previous history of involvement in eve-teasing case.

The police are also taking it into account that whether any liquor shop is in nearby area and the institutions/organisation’s building is protected by boundary wall or not. In this entire exercise besides school and colleges the coaching centers are also on the radar of cops.

A senior police officer confirmed that this type of data collection is going on and on the basis of collected data forces will be deployed in the areas. In concerned police station the phone number will be available of all such institutes and organisations which will help in taking quick action.
