Connect farmers with Krishi Ashirwad Yojana: CM to DCs

PNS

In his first official meeting since the victory of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the Lok Sabha polls, Chief Minister Raghubar Das on Wednesday asked Deputy Commissioners of all the 24 districts to run a full-fledged campaign for connecting the 51 lakh odd farmers in the State with the Mukhyamantri Krishi Ashirwad Yojana.

Das, who played a pivotal role in campaigning for the BJP during the polls in Jharkhand, on Wednesday, said the Government must focus on the development of villages and welfare of farmers as a top priority in the coming months.

“All leaves remain cancelled for the next four months. The DCs (deputy commissioners) must ensure that all the 51 lakh farmers in the State are connected to the Mukhyamantri Krishi Ashirwad Yojana. They must update the details of all the farmers in their district on the official portal as early as possible,” said Das.

He asked the DCs to hold a meeting with all the Mukhiyas and panchayat representatives in their districts and update the details of land holdings in the villages.

“Within the next four months, every street in each of the villages should have street lights, tarmac roads and drinking water facility,” he said.

Under the Mukhyamantri Krishi Ashirwad Yojana, all small and marginal land holders would get assured monetary support of Rs 5,000 to Rs 25,000 before the advent of monsoon.

According to the scheme launched in 2019-20 fiscal, Jharkhand farmers who have land holdings up to five acres will get an annual incentive of Rs 5,000 per acre for Kharif production. The scheme is likely to cause a burden of Rs 2500 crore on the state exchequer.

Das also directed the DCs to complete the construction of toilets in all the districts and make the entire state Open Defecation Free (ODF) by June 30. He also asked the DCs to prioritize the backward class in allotting homes under Awas Yojana.

By now, at least 29 lakh families have availed the benefits of Ujjwala Yojana in Jharkhand, and the CM on Wednesday said that at least 14 lakh more families will get LPG connection in Jharkhand in the next four months.

Reviewing the health facilities in the State, Das asked concerned officials to expedite the process of issuing golden cards under Ayushman Bharat Yojana to ensure better health facilities to the poor. He asked the officials to include maximum possible hospitals in the scheme. “At least 57 lakh families are getting health facilities in Jharkhand. By now, around 1,50,493 patients in Jharkhand have availed the benefits of the Ayushman Yojana. The state has spent Rs.118 crore for this,” Das said.

Addressing the meeting, Chief Secretary DK Tiwari said that if any district is found lagging behind in the targets given by the Chief Minister, then the poor performance will reflect in the Annual Confidential Report (ACR) of the concerned Deputy Commissioner.

“Even government doctors who are found ignorant towards the Ayushman Yojana will get adverse entries in the ACR,” Tiwari added.

Sunil Kumar Barnal, the Principal Secretary to CM, asked the DCs to work at least 12 hours in a day and hold a monthly press briefing to update about the work done.

The DCs, he said, should also interact with the commoners through teleconferencing for at least two hours every week.
