PNS

Accusing the Union Government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi of failing to deliver on the promises made to the public, the Pradesh Congress Committee president Kishore Upadhyay chaired a meeting with party leaders to deliberate upon the Vikas Sankalp Yatra to be organised by the party.

According to the PCC chief spokesman Mathuradatt Joshi, the Congress will undertake the Vikas Sankalp campaign in all the 70 Vidhan Sabha constituencies in Uttarakhand to publicise various achievements and facilitation provided by the Congress-led state government while also informing the public about the alleged bias and purportedly anti-public policies of the BJP-led Union Government.

The party will focus on questioning the status of various works and developments stated to have been promised by Modi and his party while campaigning for the parliamentary elections. He said, "The Sankalp Yatra will cover all of the 14 Vidhan Sabha constituencies each in the five lok Sabha constituencies in Uttarakhand. The first stage of this campaign will be started from Haridwar on September 10. The following day, on September 11, the Mahila Congress will organise a protest in Dehradun while on September 12 a protest rally is slated to be organised at Bazpur in Udham Singh Nagar district to generate opposition to "anti-farmer" policies of the Union Government," he said.

It is pertinent to mention here that various leaders of the Congress party in Uttarakhand including the PCC chief Kishore Upadhyay and chief minister Harish Rawat, among others have been repeatedly putting the blame on the union government accusing it of partiality which has affected the execution of various developmental works and other efforts.
