Asix-member delegation of the Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee on Wednesday called on Chief Secretary Sudhir Tripathi, taking the cause of divyang girl Ginni who is bed-ridden for the last 18 years.
The delegation headed by Alok Kumar Dubey, Rajiv Ranjan Prasad, Rajesh Thakur and others urged the Chief Secretary to provide assistance from the Government side to the girl whose father Gopal Prasad had even sought for euthanasia.
“The girl is suffering from critical disease and has become completely handicapped.
Her family members have approached the President, the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister of the State for help else sought permission for euthanasia citing their poor financial condition.
We have urged the CS to issue red card for ration to the family, treatment under the CM’s critical disease treatment fund and allow the family to stay at the facilities with the RMC since they have lost everything due to the illness,” said Dubey after the meeting.
The delegation apprehending suicides committed by several families in recent times in the State and other parts of the country requested the Chief Secretary to intervene at the earliest.
“The family needs immediate help otherwise any mishap can take place with them. The Government should chip in to save Ginni and her family,” said Rajesh Thakur.
The leaders said that the Chief Secretary assured the delegation with all help possible under the provisions with the Government in time so that the poor girl can be saved and her family can get relief of some kind.
