Congress committee nails Yogendra Sao

PNS

Report to be presented today

Already cornered Agriculture Minister Yogendra Sao has been pushed further on the backfoot as the Congress panel formed to probe his proximity with criminal groups has found the allegations as true.

The three member committee headed by ex MlA Manoj Yadav after visiting the Minister’s area of influence has come up with its sealed report.

Though contest of the report is not known but a member of the panel disclosed that the notorious leader had been found guilty on several fronts and lots of complaints had been received against him.

“There are lots of complaints against Yogendra Sao which we received while our visit to Hazaribagh, Badkagaon and nearby areas and found that those are not baseless. Common people and party workers came up to us and narrated about his activities,” said the member ahead of handing over the report to the State president Sukhdeo Bhagat.

Nevertheless the beleaguered Minister has questioned the sagacity of the panel which was formed by the Pradesh Congress Committee looking at the gravity of the allegations leveled by an arrested leader of the ‘Jharkhand Tiger Group’.

“The party president has formed the committee which is probing the matter. But I feel it should have consulted to me as well before arriving to any conclusion,” said Sao on Thursday clearly showing his mistrust on the outcome of the report.

Against all speculations, he attended the Cabinet meeting on Thursday and remained tightlipped over the matter and on the questions on putting in his papers. Though, he maintained that he would abide by the “directions” coming from the party high command and not hesitate to vacate the post if told to do so.

His party sources maintained that the high command had told him to come clean on his own and was banking on the outcome of the probe report to be submitted by three-member fact finding panel of the Congress party on Friday.

The Government may though wait for the CID report to come. “This would not leave him with any shelter be it in the party or the Government. His fate is more or less sealed,’ said a top leader.
