Congress banks on observers to resurrect organization

PNS

Jharkhand Pradesh Congress, perhaps to deal with infighting, has outsourced major role of organisation building to its observers coming from other States such as Odisha, Bihar and Chhattisgarh. In a high level meeting on Friday the party handed over them tasks such as strengthening the organisation and ensuring implementation of its programmes up to as below as district and panchayat levels.

In the meeting All India Congress Committee general secretary BK Hariprasad instructed the observers came to attend it to gear up for extensive tour of different parts of the State. “We have to work for strengthening the organisation in the next three months. You all have to ensure that programmes of the party and the schemes started by it when in power are implemented properly at ground level,” said the in-charge of party in Jharkhand. All the party observers will tour districts and blocks from July 19 and hold meetings with local level presidents of the units.

Similar observations were of Jharkhand State Congress president Sukhdeo Bhagat who rated the upcoming time a challenge for the party. “We will have to link people from all sections of the society to the party in the wake of Assembly polls. We want to act aggressively by choosing local issues. We are ready to fight on roads and would come back after winning confidence of the people,” said the PCC chief.

Besides these two party deputy in-charge to Jharkhand Tarachand Bhagora and Congress legislative Party leader Rajendra Prasad were also present in the meeting. The meeting also saw seven special invitees from districts and chances are that these people would replace several districts presidents in the days to come.

Nevertheless the leaders once again maintained silence on coalition issue and put the ball in high command court. “Our leader Congress president Sonia Gandhi and vice president Rahul Gandhi would decide on the issue of coalition for the Assembly elections in the State,” said Hariprasad. On Saturday host of the leaders would attend workers’ meet at Gumla.
