Congress MlA Saurav Narayan has been brought under the lens by none other than his own party leader for illegal land grabbing. Manoj Gupta, who is a member of the State Congress Committee, alleged that Singh was involved in selling the land of Raja Bangla situated in the heart of the town which is owned by the Government.
“The Supreme Court had given verdict saying the said land belonged to the Government and yet the MlA was selling it”, alleged Gupta.
Providing the copies of letters of the Union Home Ministry and Office of the Director of Census operations, Jharkhand, issued in February 2011, which clearly said that the land in question is a government property and has been encroached upon, Gupta said that the local administration was not complying with the order under the MlA’s influence.
The papers provided by Gupta hints that after getting the order in February 2011, the Deputy Commissioner sent it to Additional Collector cum District Census Officer who, in turn, wrote in July to the SDO to take steps to clear the encroachment.
The SDO instructed Executive Officer of the Municipal body to remove encroachment in the month of August and since then nothing has happened.
The Congress leader has given a memorandum with all documents to the Deputy Commissioner in which he had alleged that sale of the vacant land of Raja Bangla is going on and everybody in the town knows it. “New constructions are going on there. The buyers are getting lease paper of 30 years to 90 years issued by a religious and charitable trust,” he said.
The chairman of the trust is late Indra Jeetendra Narayan Singh, father of MlA Saurav Narayan Singh and its address is Ramgarh House, Post-Bihar Veterinary College, Patna-800014. His secretary RN Tiwari is allegedly signing on the lease papers. He had urged the DC to act according to law and to save the precious government land.
When contacted, Saurav Narayan Singh denied the allegation of selling the vacant land of Raja Bangla. “It is true that Census Office is running in one room of Raja Bangla since 1940 and dispute is still pending before the court. I have not executed any registry for sale or transfer of land on lease,” maintained the MlA.
