Cong expresses 'Vedna' over Gandhi, demonetisation

Starting from demonetisation and cursing so called autonomy of the RBI, the Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee on Saturday expressed all its ‘Vedna’ (pain) against some of the recent steps taken by the Central and State Governments, primarily of Prime Minister Narendra Modi replacing Mahatma Gandhi from latest diary and calendar of Khadi Gramodyog. Former Union Minister Subodh Kant Sahay went up to the extent of claiming that Modi and Jharkhand Chief Minister were competing with each other to win the race of anarchist.

“Demonetisation is now a proven irresponsible step by Reserve Bank of India (RBI), which claimed more than 100 lives in the country. The autonomous nature of the central bank has been shattered by PM Modi. People waited for 50 days only to receive another almost threatening gesture of the PM on the evening of December 30, which is unacceptable,” said newly formed Implementation Committee Chairman of the Party Subodh Kant Sahay on Saturday.

He said that the party will observe Jan-Vedna Sammelan under Gandhi Statue in Morhabadi Ground on death anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, where all stakeholders including people from civil society and NGOs would gather to discuss course of action against anti-people policies of State and Central Government. “Next phase will start from February 16, when we launch Modi Hazir Ho campaign at every Block. The programme will cover such rallies at all 290 Blocks in the State by February 26.”

Sahay said that the expulsion of four MlAs from Jharkhand Assembly till March this year was unwanted move. “This was the first time anywhere in the country that a Chief Minister used sentence like Gundagardi Nahi Chalegi (Gundaism will not do) in the Assembly. I will request MlAs to file a Privilege Motion and demand unconditional apology by the CM,” said Sahay. He also said that CNT/SPT Acts’ amendment will not happen in the State.
