The 17th martyrdom day of the martyr MLA Mahendra Singh, was observed on 16 January in Giridih district. Comrade Dipankar Bhattacharya, who is also general secretary of CPI-ML, was present on the occasion.
The martyrdom day program started from the party office at Bagodar, taking a pledge to follow the path of late Comrade Mahendra Singh.
He was remembered by paying floral tributes at the statue of Martyr Mahendra Singh installed here. On the death of Comrade Mahendra Singh's widow on 16 January 2022, party workers and Other political parties observed a two-minute silence for the peace of her soul.
In the program, hundreds of people, including General Secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya, MLA Vinod Kumar Singh, former MLA of Nirsa Arup Chatterjee, CPI-ML State Secretary Manoj Bhakt, paid floral tributes to the statue.
Thereafter, the statue was unveiled by paying floral tributes at the installed statue of Mahendra Singh at Bagodar Bus Stand.
After this, floral tributes were also paid to his statue located in his native village Khambhara.
During the program, people kept silence for two minutes in memory of the martyrs. During this programme, a large number of police forces were deployed in the bus stand premises regarding the security arrangements.
