The election process is going on for the new executive committee of the State’s apex traders body Federation of Jharkhand Chamber of Commerce and Industries (FJCCI) and the FJCCI Election Committee impose Election Code Conduct on Monday. This time the elections are to be held on September 10 and 11.
Giving this information, Chairman of the Election Committee FJCCI, Lalit Kedia said that the members have been given membership numbers ranging from 1 to 3500 but the election will not be according to the number. The members who wish to vote can then cast their vote, he added.
“In simple words, the election will be on a first come first serve basis. Members can vote both through ballot and computer. It has been arranged in the Chamber building itself. For this 20 computers are ready for election. At the same time, after voting, members can also check their votes. All the members have to cast a total of 21 votes. Be informed that 21 members will be given charge in the Chamber Executive,” said Kedia.
FJCCI Executive Committee Election Supervisor further said that under the predetermined program, a general meeting has been organized on September 10. “There will be a general meeting on this day from eleven o'clock. After this, members can vote from 2 o'clock. Voting will be held till 7 pm. On the other hand, polling will be held from 9 am on 11th September. The result will be released after counting of votes on its day,” he added.
Co-Chairman Election Committee, Pawan Sharma said that in the past, a total of 62 members had filed nominations for the executive elections. “After the withdrawal of nominations, now 57 members are left for the executive election. Elections are to be held for the selection of Regional Vice President in 6 divisions. Due to receipt of one nomination each in five divisions, regional vice-presidents have been elected unopposed in those divisions. The election process will be completed only for Santhal Pargana division,” he added.
