COAL INDIA to establish 7 public toilet complexes in State

PNS

Coal India Limited (CIL) will establish seven public toilet complexes across four districts in Jharkhand near operational areas of its subsidiary Central Coalfields Limited (CCL). An MoU to this effect was signed on Thursday with Sulabh International at CIL’s Corporate Office in Kolkata in presence of Coal India Chairman Pramod Agrawal, Director (Personnel &IR) Vinay Ranjan and the founder of Sulabh International Dr. Bindeshwar Pathak.

The toilet complexes will be made in Tandwa & Chatra in Chatra district, Bhalumath & Tori in Latehar district, Phusro Bazaar in Bokaro district and Ramgarh Bus Stand & Rajrappa in Ramgarh district. Each toilet complex will have 8 separate toilets with bathing and urinal facilities. Out of these 8 separate toilets for each complex, five to be made for male, two for female and one for Divyangs.

These public toilets will be beneficial to daily and poor workers not having access to proper sanitation facilities. This will also help those women who lack access to proper sanitation facilities and are deprived of a secured environment for sanitation needs.
