Delivering his Republic Day address on Monday in Dumka, the CM termed it a necessary component to put the State on the growth path.

“The Government would adopt zero tolerance against corruption cases. Corruption in any area would not be forgiven. To deal with corruption, the vigilance system would be strengthened more. Expected development in the State cannot come without ensuring probity in administrative and public lives,” said the CM.  He reiterated his resolve to establish ‘Jharkhand Development Council’ at State level and ‘CM Integrated Grievance Redresal centers’ at block-level.

Das also underlined Naxalism in the State as a main challenge and said that the Government has adopted multi-dimensional approach to resolve the issue. He, on the occasion, also appealed the “misguided” youths to join the mainstream and relinquish violence. The CM also talked about the need to utilize the infrastructure for sports, which came up during the National Games, to engage the youths.

He appealed to the people to look for a new future and opportunities and not remain muddled with contentious past. Mentioning about Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s initiative for skill development, the CM said that providing training to youths is the prime goal of the State Government.

“For the first time in 60 years, a Prime Minister has thought about youths and designated a separate Ministry for skill development at the Centre. Skill Development Council has also been setup in the State for making the youths skillful in which officials of 17 departments, people from corporate, experts and representatives of PSUs would be brought in so that employment can be provided to the youths of the State,” said the CM, adding about reserve battalion of primitive tribes.

He also mentioned about success of Jan-Dhan Scheme and DBT for transparent execution of Governmental plans. Smart City project, clean drinking water scheme, plan for agriculture revival, women empowerment, technical education, appointment of teachers etc were also mentioned by him in his first address as Chief Minister.

Das, while indicating to the paradox Jharkhand faces in terms of availability of coal and power scarcity, also said that 25 villages would be electrified during 2015-16 under the Deendayal Awas Yojna with 100 MVA transformers and farmers under Tilka Majhi Agriculture Pumping Scheme would be given six hours of power supply for farming purposes.
