Chief Minister Raghubar Das on Friday once again rapped the bureaucracy, reiterating that he will not tolerate corruption and negligence on the part of officers in the State any more.

Das, while distributing appointment letters to 91 newly appointed Veterinary Doctors and 4 Assistant Jailers at Project Building Auditorium, also announced that 45,000 more appointments will be done for different departments all over the State.

The acerbic comments from the Chief Minister came when he referred how the officers were sitting on a file for seven months related to the action taken against an official of the Animal Husbandry Department on his directive.

The officer of the Assistant Director rank in the Directorate of Dairy who also been given an additional charge of Dairy Development Officer of lohardaga who never went there and had given verbal orders to Technical Officer Ajit Kumar Sinha to work on his behalf. The Technical Officer has been working there as Dairy Development Officer for the last two years.

“I am criticizing the department……In spite of my orders, who was sitting on the file for the last seven months. I will never tolerate such corruption in this State,” said the CM. “The officer is living in Ranchi while a non-Gazetted official has been working in his place in lohardaga, demanding Rs 2000- 5000 for a cow from the villagers,” he added.

“That is why I am saying that corruption will not be accepted and negligence will not be tolerated here in this State,” CM said.

Finally, the CM had to pass suspension orders against the official with a direction to initiate departmental proceedings against him.

Das also said that the old Veterinary Doctors, Teachers or any other official for that matter, who are not going on their place of posting in remote and distant locations, will be asked to take voluntary retirements and fresh appointment of young and energetic people will be made to replace them.

“Mukhiyas will be given the responsibility to check whether doctors or teachers are coming to the villages or not,” the CM said.

Chief Secretary Rajbala Verma, Agriculture and Animal Husbandry Secretary Nitin Madan Kulkarni, Special Animal Husbandry Secretary Puja Singhal, IG (Jail) Suman Gupta, Assistant Jail IG Deepak Vidyarthy were present when the CM rapped the bureaucracy.

Expressing concern over the vacant posts all over the State, the Chief Minister announced that 45,000 more appointments will be done all over the State in the next few days.

“The process for these appointments started soon after his Government came into being. looking at the dearth of manpower in all the departments, the government is trying to bridge the gap by making fresh appointments,” said the CM.

“It is a fact that the doctors are not working, still we are making fresh appointments, will do more…..we will have to change the mindset and you will have to play an important role in making the change. You will have to bring smile on everyone’s face in the villages,” Das added.

Das expected that the shortage of Veterinary Doctors in the State will be fulfilled to some extent with the appointment of these 91.

Talking about Assistant Jailers, the Chief Minister said that living around the people who have diverted from the right path, they will also have to guide them towards the right directions.

“Some people will inspire you for taking the path of corruption….you should not get carried away with those forces,” said Das.
