In order to achieve complete electrification target in the State, Chief Minister Raghubar Das on Thursday pulled up the agencies for not showing considerable progress.

Holding a meeting with agencies, the CM said that good performers would be rewarded. “We are committed to take the goal of total electrification on time. I am warning for the last time those whose works are not on track. The Government would encourage those who are working with devotion. Any lethargy is not going to be tolerated,” said the CM.

He further added that most of the agencies allotted work are working with commitment but those not working with timeline are given one month’s time to improve. “Those who do not improve would be blacklisted. All the contractors should present their 15-day time to the Department and work on that,” said the CM.

He while underlining 70 years of darkness said that the Government is ready to improve the situation with the help of ‘Saubhagya’ scheme of the Centre. Another review would be held on July 9 to take stock of the progress and examine the quality of the work being done.

‘Polycab’, the agency doing underground cabling work in Ranchi came for special criticism of the Chief Minister while thanking the residents for their cooperation and patience. Firms working under DDYGJY at various districts also pulled up for their slow progress in electrification. Energy Secretary Nitin Madan Kulkarni, Principal Secretary to the CM Sunil Barnwal and other senior officials were present in the meeting.
