Chief Minister Raghubar Das on Monday went Tata Main Hospital (TMH) to meet former Congress MP from Singbhum Bagun Sumbrai, who is struggling for life for past several days.
Das went to intensive care unit where the veteran leader is being treated for multi organ failure. The Chief Minister met TMH general manager, Air Marshal (Dr.) Rajan Chaudhary, AVSM, VSM, (Retd.) and asked him to ensure best treatment for the leader. He instructed the hospital authorities to take best care of the leader. He also wished Sumbrai speedy recovery.
A prominent politician who won as as MP five times and MlA four, Sumbrai first won Singhbhum seat in 1977 and continued the winning streak till 1989. He won again in 2004. Sumbrai, however, lost to former Chief Minister Madhu Koda and stood third in the elections with 95,433 votes only in 2009 lok Sabha elections.
