Chief Minister Raghubar Das has sought one more year time to ensure undisrupted power supply to the people of the State. It would be possible through the massive exercise underway at present across the State to built required power infrastructure, he said.
“There is a huge gap between the infrastructure needed and what we have. After so many years the previous Governments could not anything substantial for the improvement into power sector. We from the very beginning kept power reform on priority since no development is possible without this. Looking at the pace of the infrastructure coming up, I am sure that we would be able to provide 24X7 power within one year time all over the State,” said the CM on Friday at Rajrappa of Ramgarh where he was on the occasion of district getting declared fully electrified.
As many as 305 villages of Ramgarh have been electrified under the Saubhagya scheme under which the Jharkhand Bijli Vitaran Nigam Limited and Jharkhand Urja Sancharan Ningam Limited erected as many as 50 transformers and laid kilometers of high tension and LT lines. 12 new gird sub-stations are also to come up and of two those were also inaugurated by the CM.
Latest inputs suggest that against 118 needed Jharkhand has only 38 functional grid sub-stations all. Against the need of 18000 kms of transmission line the State had just 3400 kms. 81 more grid sub-stations are in different stages of completion and are expected to be completed in one year time. The State Government is also vowing to take electricity connections to every household of the State by December 31 this year.
The CM on the occasion lauded the implementation part and said that no discrimination on the basis of caste, religion or financial status has been done. He also batted for ‘one State-one grid’ to get rid of the irregular supply of power. “30 lakh families were left without power when we assumed power. Within three and half years we have managed to energise 23 lakh families and the remaining seven lakh would be provided with power connection by the end of this year. Another five districts are going to be declared fully electrified on November 15. There is no politics involved on the basis of caste and creed when we do that,” said the CM.
Minister Chandra Prakash Chaudhary, JBVNL MD Rahul Purwar, MD of JUSNL Niranjan Kumar, Rakesh Prasad of 20-point programme committee and others were present on the occasion.
