Ailing Ranchi BJP MP, Sanjay Seth who is undergoing treatment at Asian Institute
Of Gastroenterology, Hyderabad on Monday witnessed an unusual visitor and it
was none other than Chief Minister Hemant Soren.
Seth is admitted at Asian Institute Of Gastroenterology, for the past few weeks as
he is facing liver problems. On April 30, he also underwent a minor surgery and
his condition is said to be stable and improving. Soren visited Seth in the morning
and enquired about his health and wished him for speedy recovery.
Chief Minister Soren is camping at Hyderabad for the past couple of days as his
mother Roopi Soren too is undergoing treatment at Hyderabad. The visit of Chief
Minister Soren to Seth assumes importance as the ruling party and BJP have
crossed swords with opposition BJP targeting Soren and his brother Basant Soren
on the issue of office of profit.
Chief minister Hemant Soren is in the midst of an office-of-profit controversy. And
two more members of the Soren family, Hemant Soren’s younger brother Basant
Soren and sister-in-law, Sita Soren, both law-makers in the State Assembly, are
also facing legal trouble. The chief minister has been accused of awarding himself
a lease to mine stone chips in his name, cleared by the mines and environment
departments which he heads.
The Election Commission of India too has taken cognisance of Opposition BJP’s
complaint that the Jharkhand chief minister had received undue benefits on account
of his official position. Sources said that after BJP raked up the issue and ECI took
cognizance, the Chief Minister is seeking legal help from a group of lawyers from
Delhi, Chennai and Kolkata.
A JMM leader requesting anonymity said, “The visit of CM at Asian Institute Of
Gastroenterology where Seth is undergoing treatment is a courtesy visit and should
be seen with political glasses. As both Seth and Soren are from political families,
the visit of Soren gives a message about how big a heart he has.”
Meanwhile, BJP state president and MP Deepak Prakash, leader of the legislature
party and former chief minister Babulal Marandi, regional organization general
secretary Nagendra Tripathi, state organization general secretary Dharampal Singh
and the party's state office-bearers have wished for the speedy recovery of popular
Ranchi MP Sanjay Seth. Everyone has prayed to God and wished him a healthy
and long life.
