In a good news for the denizens of Hazaribagh, Ramgarh, Koderma, Giridih and Dhanbad districts facing power crisis since last one month, CM Raghubar Das has talked to the Union Energy Minister to resolve the issue. These districts fall into the DVC command area where electricity is supplied by the Damodar Valley Corporation. Since last more than one month DVC was making power cuts in its command area due to non-payment of its bill by the State Government.
Before the ongoing assembly session MlAs of Hazaribagh, Dhanbad and Giridih sat together and started efforts to solve the problem. MP cum MoS Jayant Sinha also talked with CM Raghuvar Das on this issue during his last visit and at Delhi he raised this issue before the central power minister Piyush Goyal.
Meanwhile, MlA Manish Jaiswal, Raj Sinha and Nirbhay Shahabadi met with the officials of Jharkhand Urja Vitran Nigam and state level officials of DVC. The MlAs raised the matter of power cut by DVC and power cuts at local level which had actually forced the denizens to return into the lantern age. They urged the officials to convey their message to higher authorities because the people are suffering and in the coming month many important exams are going to start.
On Thursday the trio met with CM Raghubar Das and raised this issue. CM Das immediately talked with Union Minister Piyush Goyal who had already talked with the CMD of DVC as this matter was raised by MoS Jayant Sinha a day ago. He advised CM Das to talk with CMD of DVC and to initiate the payment of backlog dues as early as possible.
CM Das talked with the CMD of DVC and then directed the officials of Jharkhand Urja Vitran Nigam to start the process of paying backlog amount to DVC. On the assurance of CM Das DVCs CMD agreed to stop power cut from Thursday evening which was evident as there was no power cut in the evening after more than a month long time.
MlA Manish Jaiswal has assured that soon the denizens will start getting 20-22 hours electricity supply.
