Today the foundation stone of Dhumkudiya Bhawan is being laid. This is a unique and historic step of the Government. Today we are all witnesses of this moment. The Government is moving ahead with the vision that Dhumkudiya Bhawan should be inaugurated soon. There is a lot of meaning in the word Dhumkudiya. In the tribal community, all the rituals are decided while sitting and discussing in Dhumkudiya itself. It is the responsibility of all of us to keep the tradition and culture of Dhumkudiya intact,” Chief Minister Hemant Soren said while addressing the Bhumi Pujan and unveiling of the stone plaque of the Central Dhumkudiya Bhawan to be built at Karmatoli area here on Wednesday.

Soren said, “Our ancestors have brought us here with their social and cultural heritage. It is our responsibility to take the coming generation ahead with cultural and social values. Even in this period of development, the tribal community has not reached the heights it should have reached. The Scheduled Tribes, Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes Welfare Department is working with commitment under the leadership of our colleague Minister Champai Soren in order to give momentum to the tribal society in the path of development. Starting the construction work of Dhumkudia Bhawan by the department is a positive initiative. I had earlier also laid a foundation at Harmu in Ranchi, which is today known as Sarna Sthal. Social solidarity is the basis of a strong society. We should always stick to our culture and social rites.”

The CM said the construction work of the Dhumkudiya Bhawan to be constructed with an amount of about of Rs 1.5 crore would be completed within 12 months. He expressed hope that the Dhumkudiya Bhawan would inspire us to move away from politics and give positive direction to the society. On the occasion, Chief Minister Hemant Soren and Minister Champai Soren and Jaglal Pahan along with others got the Bhoomi Pujan work done with full rituals.
