Commissioner North Chotanagpur Division Surendra Singh Meena was furious when officers started throwing the ball in each others’ court during the discussion on illegal mining in the region. Annoyed with the reports from different districts, Commissioner Meena ordered everyone to stop throwing the ball in each others’ court. It is combined responsibility of you all to stop illegal mining in the area at any cost.

The Commissioner first reviewed the law and order situation in the division with IG Bokaro, DIGs, SPs and other concerned officers of all districts. In this meeting, he gave some directions to the police officials keeping in view the festival of Holi. He also instructed everyone to keep close eye on persons having previous history of disturbing the peace of the society.

Meena also instructed the officials to inspect the jails of their areas at least once in a month and to finish the cases of CRPC Act 103, 107 etc. by especially monitoring them. In the second session, he sat with the officials of the district, police, mining, CCl, forest and other concerned departments to discuss on illegal mining. He openly said that the task force made to stop illegal mining is not doing its work properly in any district and it cannot be tolerated. He said that illegal mining of stones from the area is going on without any fear and it should be stopped immediately.
