Chatra police have recovered 15.4 Kg of dry opium during raids under two different police stations, said SP Chatra Anjani Kumar Jha. Jha said three people have been arrested. One of the three comes from Bihar's Barachatti while the other two are from Chatra.
Jha said the dry opium is smuggled to Punjab, Haryana, West UP. The SP said the truck drivers of the GT Road are mostly buyers of opium and such consignment of the banned substance is sent into their hands by a well organised network. Jha at the same time also added opium cultivation is nearing to its end in the district.
