Chatra police have nabbed the sub-zonal commander,of banned left outfit, Jharkhand Prastuti Committee, Santosh Kumar alias Roshan Ji from Ranchi in the night of 13-14 September. It was informed by DSP Praveen Kumar Singh.
Police has seized a mobile and three sim cards from him. Santosh Kumar alias Roshan has emerged as a symbol of terror in Simaria, Tandwa and Piperwaar police station areas of the district since last few months. He is the named accused in several cases lodged in different police station of Chatra, Hazaribagh and Ramgarh districts.
DSP Singh said that SP Chatra got information that Roshan is residing in Kanke area of Ranchi and is operating from there nowadays. SP made a team of police officials including some technical experts. The team started keeping eye on the locations of his mobile numbers which he was using to demand levy amount from the companies and contractors.
The team took help of some of his close associates and finally arrested him from Kanke area of Ranchi. In police custody Roshan has given some important information regarding his network and associates and now police has started gathering proofs to arrest the associates, he added.
