PNS

The Chainpur police in Palamu claimed to have the identity of the man who was first shot and then burnt in a jungle under this police station on the night of March 21 by unidentified assailant. The body was recovered on March 22.

Confirming to get the identity of this man, the officer in-charge of the Chainpur police station SK Malviya said that the deceased identifies as Anil Paswan and was a police man in latehar district.

On being asked as to how such a charred body could be so identified Malviya said the police had recovered an abandoned bike at Kankari Village under this police station and the bike was later recognised as of Anil Paswan by his brother Acchay Paswan who had rushed to the police station on getting information of a bike so recovered by the police. The police officer that Acchay Paswan confirmed that the dead body was of his brother Anil Paswan.

Acchay also told the police that on March 21, Anil first dropped his wife at Tarhassi and was to go to latehar the same day. However he was found killed and burnt in Chainpur jungle.

However, it is not clear how the accessed who was to go to latehar by NH 75 was finally found murdered and burnt in Chainpur. Distance between Tarhassi and Chainpur’s jungle is roughly 50 Kilometers and is in no way en route to latehar. Asked if there is any foul play Malviya said the case is open and investigation is on as to how this policeman was so found dead in a jungle here.
