'Centre insensitive towards common people's problems'

National General Secretary of CPI Sudhakar Reddy has said that the UPA Government at the centre is working for benefit of the corporate houses inspite of working for the common man. Raising concern over the economic and political conditions of the country, Reddy also said that the Government has become insensitive regarding the problems of the common people. Reddy was addressing a Press conference on Wednesday in Ranchi.

“Despite agitation by more than 15 crore party workers across the Country on February 20-21, the Government is not even ready for a discussion on the burning issues of price rise and food security,” said Reddy.

According to Reddy, the left parties are against the cash transfer scheme of the Central Government which must be stopped immediately. The Government does not have money for health and education for the masses, but it has ensured profit of over 30 lakh crore to the corporate houses.

Reddy also appeared to be quite optimistic regarding formation of a new front after the elections. “Third front has not yet been formed, but the front formed after the elections comprising the left parties, democratic parities and some regional parties will have more seats than the BJP and Congress combined together,” Reddy insisted.

“Mayawati ji is still not with us but Mulayam Singh has nodded for the new front which we welcome and we will have a discussion on it,” added Reddy.

Talking about the new fronts PM candidate against Congress’ and BJP’s Rahul and Modi, Reddy said that anybody- Mulayam or Jayalalita can become PM. He also said that corporate media is campaigning for Rahul and Modi.

“We will not be naming anybody as PM candidate for the 2014 Parliamentary elections and will not field any individual candidate against anybody as it believes that they will not be fighting for the PM post rather will be contesting for the house. It will be joint decision by the allies after the elections,” Reddy said.

Reddy said that as the Central Government is working for the benefit of the corporate houses, there is a need of all India movement for which the left parties along with some regional and democratic parties are working on.

Reddy talking on the issue of President’s rule in the state, said that the Jharkhand Assembly must be dissolved immediately and fresh elections should be announced.
