Central observers belonging to Odisha, Chhattisgarh and Bihar would come on an extensive tour of Jharkhand on July 11, well ahead of the Assembly polls. Decision in this regard was taken in a meeting of Pradesh Congress Committee president Sukhdeo Bhagat with senior leaders of the party in Delhi on Wednesday.

Sources in the party also said that some district presidents particularly heading the affairs where the party fared badly in the lok Sabha polls had been replaced as the PCC chief went there with new list of office bearers.

“It is likely districts presidents of Seraikela, Koderma and Jamshedpur would be changed. More details would come only after Sukhdeo Bhagat arrives Ranchi,” said an office bearer. Bhagat along with Congress legislative Party leader Rajendra Singh met in-charge of party affaires in Jharkhand BK Hariprasad and other senior leaders in the morning.

Speaking to media in Delhi after the meeting, Bhagat said that the national observers belonging to other States would visit Jharkhand to provide guidance to the Congress ahead of Assembly elections. The observers would also play pivotal role in candidate selection as well. This apart, the meeting also saw issue of coalition coming for discussion.
