Angry wives and female members of CCl employees’ family stopped the coal transportation work from Tapin north project on Saturday. After about four hours of disruption, transportation work started when the administration assured the agitating women that they will get regular supply of water from Saturday onwards.
In the morning more than 200 women from the staff quarter area gathered near the Tapin north colliery gate and stopped the trucks loaded with coal. They were angry that despite their repeated requests the CCl administration has not done anything to minimise water crisis in the colony area.
The women were so angry with the CCl administration that they were not ready to talk with any officer on duty there. Finally the project officer came and talked. He assured that water tanker will go to the colony from Saturday onwards and within one month permanent arrangements will be made for continuous water supply in the colony. The protestors warned that if the water supply would not be improved even after one month they would hit the roads once again.
