The Jharkhand High Court (HC), on Friday, heard the petition filed by three suspended Congress MLAs, Irfan Ansari, Rajesh Kachhap and Naman Vixal Kongadi, who were arrested in Kolkata with Rs 46 lakhs, seeking the transfer of zero FIR in Ranchi. The hearing was held on Friday on the criminal writ filed by the three MLAs trapped in the cash scandal in the Jharkhand High Court. During the hearing, the court said that the investigation will continue against the MLAs. Along with this, the High Court has stayed the filing of the charge sheet.
The matter was heard in the court of Justice SK Dwivedi of the High Court. After the hearing, the High Court has asked the Jharkhand and Bengal Government to file affidavits in this case, while the Kolkata Police has been directed to continue the investigation of the case but the court has stayed the filing of the charge sheet.
The High Court has refused to stay the investigation against these three MLAs. It may be mentioned here that there was zero FIR against these 3 MLAs at Argora police station in Ranchi by MLA Anoop Singh, which was transferred to Kolkata. The MLAs have demanded cancellation of sending it to Kolkata. The applicant MLAs say that there should be an investigation in Jharkhand; it should not be investigated in Kolkata.
It is also pertinent to mention here that zero FIR has been registered against three MLAs of Jharkhand by Congress MLA Anoop Singh, in which Anoop Singh has accused these MLAs of being involved in the conspiracy to topple the government. While hearing the bail of these three MLAs, the Kolkata High Court has asked the police to submit the investigation report on November 10. The above three MLAs were caught by the Kolkata Police in Howrah, West Bengal on July 30 with 46 lakh cash. The Kolkata High Court has granted them conditional bail for three months. The Calcutta High Court has said that all three will have to submit their passports. Also, all three will have to stay in Kolkata for 3 months.
