The Jharkhand Unit of Congress party is apparently facing a severe crisis with various factions locking horns with each other. After cash recovery from three sitting MLAs of the party in West Bengal and their arrest in Howrah on Saturday evening, today a picture of Bermo MLA Anup Singh alias Jaimagal Singh with Assam Chief Minister and Union Coal Minister (Both senior BJP leaders) went viral on social media.
Notably, the Bermo MLA had lodged an FIR against the three MLAs Irfan Ansari, Naman Vixel Congadi and Rajesh Kachchap in Ranchi alleging that they contacted him and lured with money and ministerial berth if he helped in toppling the Hemant Soren led government in the State.
Meanwhile, Senior State Congress Leader and father of MLA, Irfan Ansari, Furkan Ansari called a press conference on Tuesday morning and termed the FIR lodged against MLAs Rajesh Kachhap, Naman Vixal Kongadi and Irfan Ansari in the cash scandal, a well-planned conspiracy. He said that there is constant tussle in the party.
“There is a difference of opinion but it does not mean that you start fighting among yourself. This is the first time that the Congress party has lodged an FIR against three MLAs of its own party. It was a hasty decision, the reason for which will have to be told to the party. The date in the FIR lodged in Argora police station (Ranchi) is 31-7-20. The police station has also registered it from the date of 31-1-22. It all looks like a conspiracy,” he added.
Ansari targeted MLA Anup Singh and said that there is a mutual dispute in the party, the issue should be kept on the party forum. “This has been the system in the party since the beginning. In such a situation, who is Singh, who has lodged an FIR in a hurry and in mutual anger and if he had received any offer in the past, he would have lodged an FIR at the same time. Why does he get offers again and again,” he added.
During the press meet Furkan also exhibited photographs in which Singh met with Union Coal Minister, Prahlad Joshi and Assam Chief Minister, Hemant Biswa Sarma.
An application for registering FIR against Jaimangal Singh was also submitted by Irfan’s lawyer in a Ranchi police station on Tuesday.
On the viral photographs issue Singh replied that on July 26, he had met Joshi at 11 Akbar Road in Delhi. He said that INTUC has been banned by Coal India in this connection, he met Joshi and this meeting was advocated by Viswa Sarma. “In-charge Avinash Pandey and CM Hemant Soren were also informed before this meeting. There has been a 20-year-old relationship with Himanta Biswa and we are waiting for Himanta Biswa's reply,” he added.
Singh further said that if the purpose of the meeting is wrong then why those tweets were deleted. He said that it will not be a big deal that CBI and ED will book him.
