SMS (New) department of Bokaro Steel Plant has been continuously achieving record production for the last one year and setting new records every day. It is noteworthy that SMS (New) is producing 41 heats/39 castings in a day using flying tundish in one go. Notably by doing 111 heat casting in sequence and making special steel like DMR, MC40, Bokaro is not only achieving excellence in production but is also playing an important role in nation building.
It is noteworthy that after achieving the record level of 1717 heat from the converter D(1) of SMS (New), its capital repair was planned on 31st August 2023. The capital repair work, which started about three months ago, has been completed in various phases with mutual coordination and tireless efforts with all sections of department including central agencies like PEB, HM (Mechanical), RED, CED, WMD, OG, I&A which has created a new history by completing the capital repair work of Converter D (1) in just 88 days.
Executive Director (Works) Birendra Kumar Tiwari congratulated the team members of all the departments associated with SMS (New) and Capital Repair work on this achievement and gave the message to continuously set new benchmarks in the same spirit of teamwork.
