Parts of Ranchi, which are piled-up with dump and wastage, are being over looked by Ranchi Municipal Corporation (RMC). lately, waste disposal by meat vendors at lalpur bazaar is becoming a rising concern, as RMC makes no proper arrangement for its disposal nor take any stringent measures; due to which most of the vendors dump their wastage into drains.
“Vendors dump their wastage into drains, which often get logged, and decay spreading foul smell,” Shankar, a resident near Distillery pond, said adding, “It creates repulsive environment to reside near lalpur Bazaar, but we are bound to stay here as our property belongs in here. RMC makes no effort, despite we have made complains regarding it.”
“We are trying our best to manage disposals but it’s difficult to provide a specific place to these vendors and take measures against them as for now there is no specific government to sanction the bill. Apart from this we know the risks underlying these disposals and sewages, but we will need more workers to clean and improve these areas.” Said Vijay Prakash, HR manager of A2Z.
Every month huge sum of money is spent over wastage management but Ranchi still stinks more than before. The question arises, “Is RMC waiting an epidemic to happen, to take necessary stepsIJ” Thousand of water pipe lines run by drains in Ranchi and water contamination by sewage is probable. These pipelines run into thousands of houses in Ranchi, which can bring epidemic.
Waste management is not only the concern at lalpur bazaar but also other places in Ranchi like Hinoo, Chutia, Station road that are replenished with disposals.
