The State Cabinet today gave its nod putting brakes on reservation to people belonging to the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) in district-wise appointments in State.  With Tuesday’s Cabinet approval, candidates belonging to the EWS category will not be able to avail 10 per cent reservation in district wise appointments. However, the Cabinet’s decision will not be affected in State-wise appointments.

State Cabinet Coordination department secretary (in-charge), Ajay Kumar Singh said, “At the Cabinet meeting it was decided that for time being there will be no 10 per cent reservation for EWS in district wise appointment; however, it will not be affected in State wise appointments.”
