CAA will not affect Indian citizens: CM

PNS

Chief Minister Raghubar Das today ensured people that the Citizenship Amendment Act will not affect on Indian citizens, where they are on any community. Addressing a poll rally in Maheshpur constituency on Tuesday the CM said that people should understand this very clearly that any citizen living in the country will not be affected by the CAA.

“The Congress, JMM and other opposition parties are spreading lies and rumours that the CAA will affect the minorities in the country. The PM has said and I must ensure you that there will be no effect on any citizen irrespective of any community he or she belongs to. The NRC has not been implemented in the State yet,” he said.

The CM further alleged that Congress and JMM have always considered people of Muslim community as voters. “They never considered Muslims as citizens of the country else the situation of the community would have been better,” said Das.

Attacking the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha leaders, especially the Soren family the CM said that they bought land in Dumka, Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Bokaro, Dhanbad, Sahebganj and many other parts of the State violating the CNT and SPT Acts. “I have documents to prove that they even effected 16 land registry in just one day. The government has sent notice to the Sorens through DCs of the concerned districts, but they have not responded. If they do not replay to the notices and probe finds them guilty all the land pieces illegally acquired by the family will be returned to their original owners,” added Das.

The CM further accused JMM leaders of not giving due respect to the activists of Jharkhand Movement. He said that the JMM Governments in the past did not take any initiative to preserve tribal culture or empower the tribal community. “They only talk about tribal uplift and rights. Paradox is that they did nothing for the tribal community when they were in power,” said Das.

He further said that women empowerment, preservation of the tribal culture and livelihood were among the key agenda of the BJP in Jharkhand. The BJP Government, soon after coming to power in 2014, framed the local’s policy, which enabled the recruitment of teachers in Jharkhand schools, he added. “We have recruited 31,000 teachers to provide quality education to the children of the State.

The BJP Government, he said, worked for betterment of farmers and brought schemes for empowerment of girls. Schemes such as the Laxmi Ladli Yojana and Sukanya Yojana were supporting young girls to aspire for their dream jobs and ensuring a safe and successful future for them, he added. The Government also launched schemes to provide financial assistance to nearly 35 lakh farmers in Jharkhand. This scheme was over and above the Centre’s welfare schemes for farmers.
