VIDHI PODDAR

Murder of 38 year-old financer, businessman cum contractor Amit Khaitan has raised anger among business fertility and others. The unfortunate incident is nothing but a mockery on our city administration feels Federation of Jharkhand Chamber of Commerce and Industries (FJCCI). Rise in such uncontrolled crime in the State has earned strong criticism from both businessmen and common people.

FJCCI president Bikash Singh said, “These types of incidents simply reflect weakness of our administration. For such incidents it will not be wise to blame only police administration but Jharkhand Government is also equally responsible for it. The need of the hour is to strength the State functionary.”

Khaitan was shot dead on Wednesday evening around 5pm at Boreya near the Jumar Bridge, on the outskirts of state capital. According to sources he was on his way for Gumla area where his construction work was going on. Based on his postmortem reports it has been revealed that two bullets were fired on him.

Former Chief Minister Arjun Munda has shown deep concern over State’s shaky law and order. He said, “local residents as well as businessmen of the city are in the grip of fear with such incidents. City’s present scenario is this, that people have lost their trust on the administration.”

According to Munda unless Government did not build a scenario of peace and harmony within the state capital till then status of development, employment, business and construction will not improve. BJP leaders have urged from the Chief Minister to establish peace within the state.

Rural SP Ranchi Surendra Kumar Jha said, “Investigation is going on and prima facie it seems that the culprit was from within his own groups. But as we have not interacted with his family-members so we are not in a position to come up with any conclusion.”
