The State Capital is again in the grip of election fever though this time, only the business fraternity will be taking part in the polls. The upcoming general election of the Federation of Jharkhand Chamber of Commerce and Industries (FJCCI) once again seems to be interesting this year.
FJCCI on Thursday declared the name of the candidates, who will contest the upcoming elections scheduled to be held on September 20 at Marwari Bhawan. The general meeting of the members of chamber will be conducted on September 19. The vote counting will be done on September 21 at the Chamber Bhawan.
Giving the details of the general election, Chairperson of election committee of FJCCI, lalit Kedia, said, “We have received the application forms for the general election from 21 people. Total 31 nominations were filled, however 10 people withdrew their name from the list and 1 application form was rejected as the candidate failed to submit its direct identification number.”
This time it was mandatory for the candidates to file the direct identification number (DIN) along with the nomination papers according to the company law. This year, the main contest is between Pawan Kumar Sharma and Manish Kumar Sharaf. The team that bags the maximum number of posts will have the final say in electing the president.
“Chamber election preparation is going on and all arrangement keeping in mind the schedule of the elections are being conducted,” Kedia further added.
