Jharkhand’s Annual Budget for 2018-19 will be presented on January 23, the birth anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, for the second year in succession, Chief Minister Raghubar Das said this on Monday while making a slew of announcements at Seraikela during the Divisional pre-Budget meeting in Kolhan Division.

The Kolhan commission level pre-Budget session was the last of the series of such meetings (Pakur, Garhwa, Simdega and Chatra) which began on December 4 at Pakur.

Addressing the crowd, the CM also  said that the third gender (transgender) will get benefits of ration and Aadhar cards and Patanjali, the company of yoga guru Baba Ramdev, will buy honey from those associated with the beekeeping in the State. He said that his Government will continue to remove unemployment from the State.

In order to know what the people are expecting from the Government in the coming budget, the CM is taking feedback. In the meeting, the scholars of their respective fields gave the government the idea on plans to work for the development of the state.

“We have decided that the 2018-19 budget will be tabled on Netaji Subhas Jayanti on January 23 and will aim at eradicating poverty and unemployment. I want to see nobody homeless and unemployed in the state by 2022,” said Das.

Significantly, in 2017 state government had advanced the budget session of the legislative assembly from last week of February to January and tabled the budget on January 23.

The Chief Minister reiterated that the Government is committed that promises are fulfilled as against the previous government led by opposition. “We not only make promises but ensure that work is done at the grass-root level and suggestions obtained from the five pre-budget sessions would certainly be discussed and incorporated in the budget which would be rural oriented. I feel happy to share the progress we made so far. Before our government came to power only 7000 schools had bench and desk out of a total of 38,904 and today 31,705 schools have bench desk and the remaining will have this facility in next few months,” said Das.

The session was also addressed by Chief Secretary Rajbala Verma, Development Commissioner Amit Khare, Additional Chief Secretary (Health) Sudhir Tripathy, Principal Secretary Urban Development department, Arun Kumar Singh, Rural Development department Secretary, Avinash Kumar, Secretary Mines and IT, Sunil Kumar Barnwal among others.
