Strongly condemning the brutal killing of an advocate on the court premises by police at Allahabad on Thursday, the Indian Association of lawyers, Peoples for Justice and Bokaro Advocate Club demanded death sentence for the assassin.
Bar Council Executive Committee member Ranjit Giri said that in pursuant to the decision taken by the Bar Council of India to abstain from Court work on Monday, the members of the Bokaro Bar Association would abstain from Court work on March 16 to show their solidarity. "We also demanded `50 lakhs compensation and a Government job to the next kin of the deceased", added Giri.
