The body of a missing labourer Binod Soren has been recovered from Tenughat Bokaro canal here on Wednesday morning. Soren drowned in the canal while taking a bath on Tuesday.
The deceased is the brother of Ashok Soren, former panchayat pramukh of Angwali Dakshin Panchayat under Petarwar block.
Regarding the incident, it is said that the local people saw the dead body hanging on the bank of the canal near Totadih village. After which its information was given to the Jaridih police station and the relatives of the deceased.
As soon as the information about the incident was received, the police reached the spot along with the team and sent the body to Chas for post-mortem.
In this regard, former chief Ashok Soren told that on Tuesday evening, Binod Soren had gone to bath in the canal. Perhaps he was trapped in algae due to jumping in the canal. His clothes and slippers were kept near the canal. He was being searched since last evening for fear of drowning in the canal.
