Body of Sumeet Srivastav district treasurer of the Bhartiya Janta Yuva Morcha, which was initially post mortemed in the MMCH Daltonganj on Sunday, was again sent late at night on Sunday to RIMS Ranchi for retrieval of the bullet lodged in his body said sources.

Body of Srivastav was found in his parked car on NH 98 on Sunday SP Chandan Kumar Sinha had said.

A senior doctor of the MMCH Vijay Kumar Singh deputy superintendent said a team of 3 doctors had conducted the post mortem.

The cause of death was found to be excessive bleeding and shock due to the fire arm injury that the deceased Srivastav had sustained, said Singh. It was a clear case of fire arm injury leading to death.

Sources said the bullet lodged in the body of the deceased could not be extracted despite all efforts of the 3 doctors.

The family insisted on the recovery of the lodged bullet in the body.

Singh said we assured the family that our post mortem report will be carrying mention of the fire arm injury, profuse bleeding and shock but the family wanted the bullet to be out of the body.

Following this stalemate, on the family’s petition to have the lodged bullet retrieved first the body was sent to the RIMS Ranchi last night itself after all due formalities were done.

The BJP today came heavily upon the MMCH management and efficiency for not taking out the lodged bullet, sources said.
