The Giridih police recovered the unidentified body of a 20 year old girl on NH-2, near 20 miles, 7 km from Bagodar police station on Thursday afternoon.
The body was partly necked when recovered by a patrolling team of the Bagodar police station. The throat was silt open police officers said. Police have not ruled out the possibility of rape before murder .
The body was sent to divisional hospital, Giridih for the postmortem. No weapon was found at the scene, policemen said.
A case of homicide against unidentified persons has been registered in this connection.
Investigations said they were first trying to find out the identity of the deceased. No headway could be made till Thursday evening. The body of a girl was lying near 20 miles at road side of GT road and her legs and hands were found tied.
