PNS

Public sympathy has swelled for the activists of the Bhartiya Janta Yuva Morcha (BJYM) whose activists made the Palamau civil surgeon Y Mahto to learn the lesson of efficiency and performance the hard way when on Wednesday September 4 the CS was pulled out of his chamber and then made to walk to the Sadar hospital with no face up.

The Pioneer spoke to a section of people who said the BJYM people did it as a last resort as this hospital is everything but a hospital. Reeta Devi a bystander said ' I dread going to this hospital as no one knows what more disease or infection you will get from here'.

Although two FIRs are lodged one by the CS Mahto and the other by the Palamau district president of BJYM Shyam Babu the OC Daltonganj police station M Thakur said the texts of both the FIRs have been elongated but the police would do all to reach the fact with a very open mind and transparent investigation There has been a volley of questions with regard to the services in the Sadar hospital and the Civil surgeon has been asked to answer it.

1. There are outsiders working as staff in this hospital. The DC Palamau Manoj Kumar has too accepted this with great concern. Who has so engaged these outsiders to work like a stafferIJ Is the civil surgeon or deputy medical superintendent not aware of the illegal and unauthorised presence of these outsiders in the hospitalIJ

2 Are these outsiders not taking indoor and outdoor patients for a rideIJ

The Wednesday incident was sparked by one such outsider who demanded 200 rupees from a patient who is a BJYM activist. One IAS probationer S K Agrahari too has conceded that the demand for rupees came not from the staff but from one outsider in the hospital.
