BJP welcomes NRC proposal, flays protesters

The State BJP unit today welcomed the stand of Government, which has taken a policy decision to file petition at the Supreme Court of India for executing National Register of Citizenship (NRC). Spokesperson Pratul Shahdeo said here on Friday that NRC should be imposed in the State and the Bangladeshi infiltrators should be kicked out after proper verification.

Shahdeo said that some Opposition parties and selfish organizations are protesting against NRC in Jharkhand only for political gains. “They are followers of Genghis Khan, who came from magnolia and captured assets of India. The foreign infiltrators are harming the interests of the people of State in similar way,” he said.

The State BJP spokesperson said that the population of minorities in Santhal Pargana has increased to 23 per cent from 9 per cent in the year 1951. Similarly, he said the population of minorities was 5 per cent in Ranchi in the year 1951 and now it has come to 10.5 per cent and this clearly shows that infiltration has taken place. “The infiltrators have seriously harmed the interests of the local residents including tribals, locals and minorities. But, the political parties have always used them as vote banks. Bangladeshi infiltrators have harmed the local minorities the most as they are being benefitted by minority welfare schemes of the State,” said Shahdeo, requesting the government to expedite the NCR issue and removal of Bangladeshis from the State.

Meanwhile, the JMM today took a dig at the government after 12 BJP MPs wrote to CM Raghubar Das on the schools merger issue. JMM general Secretary and Spokesperson, Supriyo Bhattacharya said that the step has come after the BJP MPs were flayed by their voters for closure of schools and their merger.  Bhattacharya said that there is widespread anger among the masses due to the decision and the MPs are afraid of visiting their constituencies.

Bhattacharya said that the MPs, keeping in mind the 2019 elections, have asked the government to delay the decision of school merger for at least another one year. And, therefore they want that the School merger process is stopped for now so that they do not have to face public ire, said he.

The JMM also questioned the policies of the government on doing MoUs with NGOs on education. It raised serious objections on the alleged insult of artists and sportspersons by BJP leaders.
