BJP uses pincode verification to curb fake membership

PNS

The BJP in Palamu is facing a piquant situation in its membership drive. It has issued a toll free number for registration and once a person gets his registration number, then he receives a verification call for verifying his residential address and pincode. If the second call is not responded, then the first registration will be nullified.

No registration will be completed without full address and person’s pincode of the area where he lives. The verification of pincode is being done to eliminate fake membership. BJP district president, Palamu, Manoj Kumar Singh has appealed the people to attend the second call and verify their pincode as without its verification, the membership will not be valid.

While addressing the media persons here on Wedneaday, Singh said the process of getting registered with the party through e-registration is very easy. He informed that earlier the membership of this party was done with Rs5. Now by doing an SMS, it costs Rs1.20 or 1.50 only for getting registered with the party. Palamu has been given a target of 2.50 lakh membership till March end and it has reached 25,000 mark at present, Singh added.

In the press briefing, the BJP leader said that Palamu’s BJP MP VD Ram has given  Rs11 lakh for providing drinking water facility at Abadganj mohalla in the town. Manoj took pot shots at former Congress MlA KN Tripathy saying that Tripathy  had promised to have press in water tankers to supply water in Abadganj area but now there is no trace of the water tankers and claimed that Deputy Development Commissioner Palamu B Tatma has assured him to look into the matter. Singh said, “Once the water tankers are found out, Abadganj may get drinking water from these tankers.”
