BJP to create awareness on farm laws through social events

PNS

The BJP led NDA government is gearing to launch a campaign to promote the new farm laws countering thousands of farmers’ protests taking place for more than a fortnight now. The campaign will be used to spread the message on farm laws across 700-plus districts and the message is being designed to separate fact from fiction over the new farm laws.

Starting with this the state BJP has decided to hold farmers conferences at each administrative divisional commissionery from December 15. State BJP president Deepak Prakash and State BJP general secretary Aditya Sahu have asked members of BJP farmers’ cell to hold farmers conferences at administrative commissionery .

Sahu informed that the conference at Santhal Pargana the keynote speaker will be former Chief Minister Babulal Marandi, while in the North Chhotanagpur division, former State President Dr. Ravindra Kumar Rai, former Chief Minister and National Vice President Raghubar Das in South Chotanagpur division and in Kolhan division Union Minister Arjun Munda and Palamu will address the former State President Dr. Dineshanand Goswami will be keynote speaker.

Sahu said that due to personal interest, opposition parties including Congress are constantly trying to confuse the farmers about the farm laws, whereas the Union Government headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has went through historical reforms related to agriculture. The agriculture reform bills aim at doubling the income of the farmers so that the farmers are free from the clutches of middlemen and have freedom to sell their agriculture produce. The farmers conference which will be attended by senior party leaders including MPs, MLAs and party organizational members will try to clear the doubts about agriculture reforms at the same time the leaders will inform farmers how the farm law is beneficial for them.

Party sources said events, including press conferences and public programmes, will be held in most administrative commissionaires.  The development comes amid opposition parties' united support to the farmers' protest and attack on the Narendra Modi government over the issue.

A senior BJP leader requesting anonymity said, “Till now farmers' protest is confined to Punjab and Haryana region and it has not spread to other regions especially in Jharkhand and Bihar. The farmers from Jharkhand till date have not supported the opposition call for farmers’ protest which was seen during Bharat bandh on December 8. We want to inform farmers about the benefits and advantages the farmers will get through new farm law and at the same clear the confusion about agriculture law.”

The BJP has assigned the task to its leaders. The farmers’ conference at Santha Pargana will be held in Deoghar and BJP MLA Narayan Das has been made in-charge of Santhal Pargana region. The conference at Palamu division is held at Medininagar and former minister and MLA Bhanupratap Shahi  has been made the in-charge of the event. North Chotanagpur farmers conference will be held at Nirsa and MLA Aparna Sengupta and Indrajit Mahato has been made in charge.
