The BJP on Tuesday reiterated its resolve to make Jharkhand one of the most developed States in the country, giving special emphasis on encouraging manufacturing sector of the State by lunching ‘Make in Jharkhand’ scheme in the lines of the ‘Centre’s Make in India’ campaign while releasing the party’s manifesto for Assembly elections here on Tuesday.

Party’s national president Amit Shah, Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, alongwith a host of Union Ministers and senior leaders, released the manifesto of the party on Tuesday stressing on the need of a full majority Government for stability and development of the State.

Speaking on the occasion, Shah said that the saffron party was committed to provide the State stability and development through a host of measures that are being taken at the Centre and other BJP ruled States of the country.   “The party, according to the manifesto, is going to the elections with three-point agenda — Stable Government, transparent administration and development in State,” said Shah appealing to the people to vote for steadiness in the State.

Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, who kicked off the BJP campaign officially in Jharkhand on Tuesday said that the voters were smarter than political pundits and election experts. They could choose better governance for themselves, he added.

“This possibility must be converged to the reality during the coming Assembly elections, once a majority Government is formed, you need not worry about the person sitting beside for the next five years and you can concentrate better on the voters at your front,” Jaitley said.

After the official release of the manifesto senior BJP leader and convenor of the Manifesto Committee of State BJP Saryu Roy dwelt on the salient features of the manifesto through a Power Point presentation.

Earlier, former Chief Minister Arjun Munda, while delivering the introductory speech, said that party’s manifesto will raise new hopes among the people of the State as several attempts made for developmental remained futile in the past due to instability. “Whenever we tried to move forward, we were pulled back by the opponents due to the political compulsions in the State,” he added.

“The way Prime Minister Modi is taking the nation ahead, Jharkhand can take initiatives to lead the country to a new high as a mother of energy,” said Munda. “We have all the requirements for it in the form of natural resources,” added Munda.

“We are trying to develop digital panchayats in the State connecting it to the district economy and further to the State economy in order to ensure public partnership into governance. “In order to ensure the possibility of developed State in the future, it is important that both natural resources and human resource converge at a certain point,” added Munda.

The party’s manifesto, meanwhile, named as ‘People’s Manifesto’ begins with the tale of how the Congress has been playing a destructive role in the State and not allowing any government to stay for long. It states how the party conspired to make the Arjun Munda-led Government fall in 2013, how it supported a minority Government of Shibu Soren in 2005 that could not survive the floor test and how it influenced JMM chief Shibu Soren in 2009 to disturb the coalition Government.

The manifesto further talks about a sensitive and transparent Government just in the lines of the Arjun Munda-led Government between 2010 — 2013. With a comparative analysis it explains the voters how the JMM-Congress-RJD coalition Government has been indulging in anti-people policies unlike the Munda-led Government that was taking steps to streamline governance and expedite development works in the State.

Elaborating BJP’s plans for the state the People’s Manifesto begins with the slogan of ‘Corruption free development’ and talks about PM Modi’s resolve to weed out corruption from all parts of the country. It elucidates plans to set up public grievances redressal cells at all administrative levels, strengthening of vigilance bureau, social audits of development works across the state among others.

The party’ manifesto has a special section for development plans for the underdeveloped Santhal Pargana area. It states that the party would set up a High Court Bench at Dumka and try to establish a medical college in the lines of AIIMS at the second capital of the State. The manifesto also talks about development of Deoghar as a religious tourism place, construction of highways, bridges, railway lines and stopping infiltration of Bangladeshi citizens in the state by way of setting up a commission to prove the situation there.

In toto the people’s manifesto stresses mainly upon using the human and natural resources of the state in an organised way to catapult the state on the path of speedy development. Conservation and nurturing of traditional culture, heritage and assets of the state in the most efficient way forms the other part of the manifesto.
