BJP ridicules JMM

PNS

Reacting to the JMM initiative to meet Governor Draupadi Murmu over plight of paddy farmers the BJP has termed it a futile exercise. Party spokesperson Pratull Sahadeo on Friday said that the Government has already held meetings and taken steps to bring relief to the paddy farmers.

“It seems Hemant Soren has woken-up late. The Government has already organised meeting in the leadership of the Chief Secretary and the Disaster Management Department has conducted surveys in over 100 such blocks where soil moisture content is low. Detailed report is to be sent to the Center,” said Sahadeo.

He further added that as many nine districts and 17 blocks have been identified where less than 40 per cent rainfall is recorded.

“The Government has already announced waiver of 2 per cent on insurance premium and the CM has told the Food and Civil Supplies Department to keep 10 quintals of food grains in each block for emergency situation,” said he asserting that the Government is committed to provide relief to the farmers while snubbing the JMM’s act merely ‘crocodile’s tears’.
