State BJP Spokesperson Pratul Shahdeo today said that according to Foreign Contribution Development Authority statistics organizations related with Christian missionaries in Ranchi district have received Rs 19 crore foreign funds, while non-Christian organisations received Rs 1.4 crore. Shahdeo said that the Christian missionaries have received the funds from countries like Italy, Belgium, England, America etc. He said that if Rs 19 crore has been received in six months, they must have got over Rs 100 crore in last five years.
Shahdeo questioned Christian Missionaries and religious gurus as to what happened to that huge amount of money. “Has the money been diverted for religious conversionsIJ Has it been used for Patthalgadi supportersIJ Was the money used for buying land by churchIJ If the church has done this it would be violation of CNT and SPT Act,” he said.
Shahdeo said the Church is trying its best to influence CID probe initiated by the State government in child selling case. “The probe will bring out the truth but some people are questioning the very basics of the investigation and raising doubts on the judicial process,” said. State Spokespersons Rajesh Kumar Shukla, media in-charge Shiv Poojan Pathak and Ramesh Hansda were also present on the occasion.
