Panki MLA Shashibhushan Mehta has sent tweets to the CM Hemant Soren and the DGP Jharkhand police M V Rao to take cognizance of the brutal kidnapping and murder of the farmer Vishwanath Yadav in Panki.
Mehta said a response has come from the Jharkhand police, which reads that the matter has been taken into cognizance by the state police and SP Palamu has been directed to take action in the case.
Mehta said the kidnapping and murder of the farmer happened because of the total inept and inadequate handling of the case by the Panki police, which believed the kidnapped farmer Vishwanath Yadav would return home on his own.
There were ransom calls made to this Yadav family which too the Panki police did not take any seriously. The farmer’s body was recovered after six days of the kidnapping and the body of the farmer bore a gunshot wound in the neck.
Mehta said Panki police taken this case seriously and investigated it professionally farmer’s life could have been saved. SDPO Lesliganj Anup Kr Baraik said the Panki police made all out efforts but Yadav could not be found and saved. Baraik said police thought the incident was related to the old enmity. SDPO agreed there had come ransom calls too to the farmer’s family.
