CPI national secretary Atul Anjan on Tuesday said that BJP-led Governments were making false claims regarding their achievements adding that people should hold discussions at the streets and mohallas levels on what they gained and lost during the NDA rule.
Anjan was speaking during the ‘Sanvidhan Bachao-BJP Bhagao-Desh Bachao (save constitution, oust BJP, save the nation)’ rally at Morhabadi ground in Ranchi.
Senior leader of Congress, CPI, CPM, CPI (M-L) and RJD participated in the public meeting.
He stated that BJP was making false promises to people in the past and is also doing the same at present. He added people should unite to drive the BJP- ruled government out of power.
He also likened RSS policies to that of Nazi party saying the former believes in superiority of race like the Hitler’s party.
Addressing the gathering former union minister and congress leader Subodh Kant Sahay urged the people to follow the ‘pathalgarhi’ method in order to prevent the BJP’s trickery and socially disruptive policies from their villages. “CM Raghubar Das would go back to Chattisgarh after losing the next assembly elections,” he said.
He said NDA government made a host of promises including reducing inflation, maintaining the fuel prices at Rs 40 per litre and providing job to two crore people every year during the 2014 elections but now people are feeling cheated.
Sahay compared Prime Minister Narendra Modi with a ‘Madari’ and CM Raghubar Das with ‘Jamura’ and said both are staging shows to deceive people,” Sahay said.
The former union minister challenged the BJP to fight elections on issues of the farmers and youths instead of Hindu and Muslims. He urged the CM to reply why hunger deaths and mob lynching are taking place in the state.
Congress state president Dr Ajoy Kumar said that defeating BJP in elections is not difficult if all opposition parties unite.
AITUC national president Ramendra Kumar stated that congress being the largest party should be ready to make political adjustment in order promote opposition unity. Former CPI MP Bhuwaneshwar Mehta stated that in the absence of irrigation facilities farmers are in pitiable state adding they are committing suicide in large numbers. The talks of doubling farmer’s income in such situation are lies, he added.
A resolution was also passed in support of the demands of agitating para-teachers in the function. It demanded that government should release the arrested para-teachers and reinstate them in jobs. It added the opposition parties would take to the streets for their cause if the demands were not met.
