Condemning the recent anti-national incidents at Jawaharlal Nehru University in New Delhi, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) launched ‘Rashtriya Swabhiman Abhiyaan’ across the Country on Thursday. Talking to the mediapersons after a joint meeting of BJP core committee and State BJP officials at State party headquarters in Ranchi on Thursday, party’s State president Ravindra Rai announced that the drive will be conducted throughout Jharkhand from February 19 to 25.
“Country’s image has been tarnished by shouting anti-national slogans in the campus of such a reputed University in New Delhi. The BJP condemning everyone be it a party or an individual, whoever have been protecting such people, has decided to launch ‘Rashtriya Swabhimaan Abhiyaan’ at the national level from today,” said Rai. It will be conducted in Jharkhand from February 19 to February 25 across the state, he added.
Rai further added that under this programme, meetings across the state will be held at various places along with seminars in schools and colleges up to ‘mandal’ and block levels alerting people against the incident which has been taking place inside the JNU campus.
“All leaders, including MlAs and MPs will have to ensure their participation in this movement,” Rai said.
According to the State president, at this point in time when there was a nationalist government at the centre when there has been a remarkable increase in the esteem across the globe and most of the prominent Country’s have starting recognizing India as a world leader, it is a shameful act which must be condemned by everyone in the Country.
“It is really unfortunate that JNU, gradually has started becoming a centre point for anti-national activities where regular seminars by the students associated with communist ideology are being organised and anti-national slogans are shouted,” said Rai. It is also inopportune that such activities are taking place at a place which was considered to be the breeding ground for the future of the nation, he added.
“It took an ugly turn when the leaders of Congress Party, taking their sides, started giving statements in their favour,” Rai said.
Rai also congratulated Chief Minister Raghubar Das for putting its side before the industrialists for the possibilities of investments in the State.
“It is really a matter of pride that proposal of Rs 62000 crore during two days’ meet was offered for investments in Jharkhand. The state will receive more proposals in future also so hat proper utilization of the natural resource could be done,” Rai added.
